Fake military summonses hoax targets public on Telegram channels
A new hoax involving purported military call-up papers is circulating on Telegram channels.
The country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirmed it had not issued any such papers, adding that the information was "completely false".
"These documents are fake and are part of a new attempt to spread false claims about preparations for war. Their clear purpose is to sow panic, undermine confidence in state institutions, and manipulate public opinion ahead of ongoing elections," the MoD stated.
The MoD urged citizens to remain vigilant, not be misled, and to only seek information from official sources.
