Electronic voter lists used in 30 polling stations across the country and abroad
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has decided that 30 polling stations, both in the country and abroad, will use both paper and electronic voter lists, to streamline the voting process.
“Electronic records are maintained via digital tablets. Voters will present their ID to the polling station operators, and after verification in the system, they will sign on the tablets, thereby confirming their presence at the vote,” the CEC stated in a press release . The electoral authority notes that the digital tablets “will significantly reduce voting time and queues at polling stations, which are usually observed abroad.”
