On the "Day of Silence," when electoral campaigning is prohibited by law, Moldovan citizens receive messages on Viber from numbers originating in the Russian Federation. These messages, which say, "Don't let the power steal your vote," are part of a strategy designed to instil fear and influence the electorate, according to Watchdog analyst Valeriu Pașa, as reported by Moldova 1.

TV Nord published captures of such messages.

Citizens must remain calm and not fall into the trap of manipulation, according to the analyst from the Watchdog organization.

"Citizens must stay composed, vote, and not be provoked. If we panic and believe these lies, they will succeed in undermining our democratic process. Preserving this process is now our most important objective," emphasized Valeriu Pașa.

For several years, the Republic of Moldova has been the target of massive disinformation campaigns that intensify during election periods, aiming to instil a sense of fear among the population.
