Igor Grosu in Bucharest: 'Grateful for Romania’s unconditional support'

Igor Grosu is currently in Bucharest, where he met with Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The visit was announced by Grosu, the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, on social media and was also confirmed by Parliament. However, it has not been specified whether Igor Grosu is in Romania as the party president or as the president of the 11th legislature, which continues its mandate until the results of the September 28 elections are confirmed and the new deputies are validated.
"I am on a short visit to Bucharest today. This morning, I met with the Prime Minister of Romania and good friend of the Republic of Moldova, Ilie Bolojan. I expressed my gratitude for the constant support that Romania offers us unconditionally and we agreed that in the coming years we will take our relations to an unprecedented level, especially in infrastructure, energy and capital exchange," Igor Grosu wrote on Wednesday, on Facebook.
According to the politician, "there are concrete projects that will bring economic development and well-being on both banks of the Prut".
Igor Grosu also stated that Romania is one of the Republic of Moldova's biggest supporters of the European path, which aims to sign the EU accession treaty in 2028.
The Prime Minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, congratulated the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for the excellent mobilization in the parliamentary elections on September 28 and for the firm option in favor of the European direction.
"I would also like to especially congratulate the authorities of the Republic of Moldova for the exemplary way in which they organized the election and for the way in which they coped with a complex of pressures aimed at diverting the will of the people", Bolojan wrote on Facebook on Monday.
Preliminary results of the parliamentary elections on September 28 show that five electoral competitors will enter the new Legislative, the pro-European party founded by President Maia Sandu obtained more than half of the votes and will govern for the next four years.
According to data announced by the Central Electoral Commission, the Action and Solidarity Party scored 50.20% of the votes (792,557), followed by the "Patriotic" Bloc with 24.17% (381,505 votes). The "Alternative" Electoral Bloc obtained 7.96% (125,685), the Our Party - 6.20% (97,852), and the "Democracy at Home" Party - 5.62% (88,679). The other parties and electoral blocs did not reach the threshold required to enter the Legislative.
