Moldovan carriers gain wider access to international markets

Moldovan carriers may receive additional authorizations that would improve their access to the territories of six countries: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, Serbia, and Armenia. The authorities in Chisinau requested these countries to issue the necessary authorizations, aiming to expand the market opportunities for Moldovan carriers in these states.

According to Daniel Vodă, the Government spokesman, in 2025 more authorizations were obtained for Moldovan carriers following the steps taken by the authorities in Chisinau.

Thus, after more than a decade, Poland accepted this year the increase in the quota by 150 authorizations for the following year.

Also, 300 additional bilateral transit authorizations were offered for Azerbaijan, 30 authorizations for Spain, and 300 authorizations for Turkey in addition to those previously approved.

"The results obtained in 2025 show that the Republic of Moldova is a reliable partner for the states in the region and the European Union. Each additional authorization means more goods exported, more commercial contracts carried out and jobs supported at home," Vodă emphasized, after the October 1 Government meeting.

We remind you that, in September this year, the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova on the liberalization of road freight transport was extended until March 31, 2027.

Thanks to this regime, transport operators from the Republic of Moldova can continue to circulate freely on the territory of the European Union member states both in bilateral transport and in transit, strengthening trade, economic ties and the country's integration into the European market”, previously stated the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Mircea Păscăluță.
