Chișinău City Day 2025: Full programme and concert lineup
Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, has released the programme for its annual City Day celebrations on 14 October.
The day will begin at 08:00 with a Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord.
Activities will take place in the Great National Assembly Square and along the capital's central boulevard, ending with an evening concert.
From 10:00, the Cathedral Park and the square will host all-day artistic events. This will include a Folk Crafts Fair, a Local Producers' Fair, and a Gastronomy Zone, extending to Vasile Alecsandri Street.
The concert lineup features the Advahov Brothers Orchestra, Lupii lui Calancea (Calancea's Wolves), and Epic Simfonic, along with Dumitru Cârciumaru, principal conductor of the Craiova Romanian Opera.
The 14 October date was adopted in 2000 and coincides with the religious holiday, the Protection of the Mother of God. Before that, the City Day was celebrated on the second Sunday of October.
