Woman set on fire in Causeni; husband charged with domestic violence

A 30-year-old man from the Causeni district is set to appear in court, facing charges of domestic violence after allegedly setting his wife on fire during a conflict. The Causeni Prosecutor's Office announced that the criminal investigation has been completed and the case has been forwarded to the court.
The case took place on June 21st of this year, when, during a conflict, the man allegedly took a bottle of gasoline, doused the victim and later set her on fire.
According to the forensic report, the woman suffered burns and other bodily injuries, qualified by specialists as moderate bodily injuries.
The defendant partially admitted his guilt, stating that the arson occurred "inadvertently".
For the acts committed, the man faces a sentence of up to 240 hours of unpaid community service or up to six years in prison.
