The first workshop in the Republic of Moldova, equipped with a fully functional photovoltaic system, was inaugurated at Vocational School No. 4 in Balti. There, students learn to install solar panels. The investment value exceeds 160 thousand lei.

The new system includes solar panels, inverters and intelligent monitoring equipment, just like in companies that manage photovoltaic parks, says student Maxim Corolevschi.

“To prepare the workplace, we need electrical tools, electrical conductors, gloves, a gown, boots, a carpet and we are already starting to install the panel. I want to be a photovoltaic panel installer, because it is a very well-paid job, because, in the 21st century, money is important and to have a bright future”, says the student.

Everything was possible thanks to the project *“Skills for the green transition and sustainable development of Moldova, implemented by the International Labour Organisation, said the national coordinator, Ala Lipciu.

“We see dynamics on the labor market and the world of work, which are related to the green transition, the creation of jobs in new sectors”.

In the future, four more vocational education institutions in Chisinau will get modern equipment - the Center of Excellence in Energy and Electronics, Vocational School No. 7, Vocational School No. 3, and Vocational School No. 9, says the State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), Liudmila Stihi.

"We strive to educate the younger generation, in accordance with the needs of the business environment, so that our country can meet those commitments, regarding the implementation of renewable resource technologies", added the MEC representative.

Over 670 students study at Vocational School No. 4 in Balti.
