A first for Moldova’s education system: Students can now test their digital skills on a dedicated platform

Students in grades 9 and 12 will have the opportunity to test their digital skills on a specialized platform, marking a first for the education system in the Republic of Moldova. This initiative will provide young people with official recognition of their digital literacy level, an increasingly valuable skill in the job market.
According to the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, "the digital transformation of education is no longer an option, but a necessity". The world we live in is changing rapidly, and digital technologies are becoming an integral part of almost every area of life.
The education authorities announce the launch of the testing process and expect there to be at least 3,000 applicants.
"We expect to have around 2,000 ninth-grade students who will accept the challenge and approximately 1,000 XII-grade students. We thank the computer science teachers in advance for helping us in the process of developing the evaluation methodology and participating fully in the process of consulting the questions", Dan Perciun said.
The testing sessions will be conducted under the guidance of teachers, who will provide technical support throughout the process, said the director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, Lilia Ivanov.
Each student will receive a unique code from the school for authentication on the platform. After entering the code and verifying the data, the student will be directed to the testing page, where he or she can start the test only on the established day. The test includes grid-type items, each with four answer options, only one of which is correct.
*"There are many countries where this test is mandatory. For example, in Romania. But there are other countries where digital skills testing is done upon request. In our country, at the moment, this test will be available upon request, according to the director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation.
The testing will be conducted exclusively on the specialized platform md.brio.ro, which can be accessed from any electronic device. Registration is done by filling out a form, and the deadline is November 7th.
