Mayor of Chisinau counts on good cooperation with the future Government: "A pragmatic approach, without administrative blockages"

The mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, who announced that he is giving up the mandate as a deputy obtained in the elections of September 28, counts on a good collaboration with the new Government, based on "a pragmatic approach" and "without administrative blockages".
The mayor noted that, in the context of the approaching cold season, better coordination of efforts between the central and municipal authorities is essential.
"It would be good to have a common plan - one in which each of us, the Chisinau City Hall, but also the Government of the Republic of Moldova, would provide all the support so that the works are completed", the mayor declared on Monday, during the operational meeting of the City Hall services, in the context of the "European Court" Program, which is underway in Chisinau.
The mayor said that he would request that a person from the City Hall be designated to communicate with the responsible person in the Government "to see how we can move these things forward".
Ion Ceban emphasized the importance of cooperation based on "professionalism and reason".
"I hope that the future prime minister and the new Cabinet of Ministers will adopt a pragmatic approach, not to create administrative blockages. We all work for the people and, in the end, we all live in Chisinau", declared Ion Ceban.
At the same time, the mayor ordered the resumption of all the steps sent to the Government, whether they are infrastructure projects or programs, or requests for funding, in different areas.
"Chisinau City Hall has intervened every time it has been asked for support and expects the same attitude from the Government. I have some advice for the future prime minister, but also for the ministers: not to do politics, but policies for all citizens, equally", emphasized Ceban.
The mayor recalled that on Wednesday, October 22, the session to establish the Parliament will take place, at which he expressed his hope that he will speak from the Legislative tribune about "the proposals, requests and expectations of citizens".
"If there is real will for the people, everything can be achieved without intentional blockages. We, here, with the team, have demonstrated over the years that we resist and achieve, and now it is time for the central government to demonstrate the same thing. Election campaigns come and go, but the duty of all those in office until the next elections is not to forget that every day hundreds of Moldovans choose to go abroad", the mayor said.
Ion Ceban entered Parliament on the lists of the "Alternative" Electoral Bloc, which obtained eight deputy mandates in the new Legislative. When he officially resigns as a deputy, as he announced, it will be passed on to Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici, the first in line on the list of alternate candidates.
Relations between Chisinau City Hall and the Government led by Dorin Recean were marked by tensions and mutual accusations.
