Alexandru Munteanu announced his full government team, with over half of the ministers keeping their posts

Nine deputy prime ministers and ministers from the former Recean Government and eight new ministers, three of whom held other positions in the former Executive. Prime Minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu presented on Tuesday, October 28, the team with which he will go to Parliament to request a vote of confidence from the deputies.

"This is the team with which I will go to Parliament to ask for a vote of confidence from the deputies. Our priority is to ensure economic growth, together with a professional government team that will guarantee that the Republic of Moldova is ready for EU accession in the coming years," Alexandru Munteanu wrote on his Facebook page.

Cabinet of Ministers proposed by the Prime Minister-designate:

The new Cabinet includes nine members of the New Government: Vladimir Bolea – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Cristina Gherasimov – Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Mihai Popșoi – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dan Perciun – Minister of Education and Research, Ludmila Catlabuga - Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Daniela Misail-Nichitin - Minister of Internal Affairs, Dorin Junghietu - Minister of Energy and Anatolie Nosatîi - Minister of Defense.

The new team proposed by Munteanu also includes Eugen Osmochescu - proposed for the position of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Valeriu Chiveri - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Vladislav Cojuhari - Minister of Justice, Andrian Gavriliță - Minister of Finance, Natalia Plugaru - Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Emil Ceban - Minister of Health, Gheorghe Hajder - Minister of Environment and Cristian Jardan - Minister of Culture.

Three of the proposed ministers previously held positions in the Recean Government: Vladislav Cojuhari was Secretary of State at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Gheorghe Hajder - Secretary of State at the Ministry of Environment and Cristian Jardan - Advisor to Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

Also, the acting Minister of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will take over the position of Secretary General of the State Chancellery.


"EU, Peace, Development" – the governing program of the Munteanu Government

The Government's activity program, made public by the designated Prime Minister, Alexandru Munteanu, is oriented towards the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, maintaining peace, ensuring prosperity and increasing the quality of life, with the objective of transforming the pro-European commitment into concrete benefits for citizens even before formal accession to the European Union.

We would like to point out that Alexandru Munteanu is the proposal of the parliamentary faction of the Action and Solidarity Party, which has the majority in Parliament, for the position of Prime Minister. President Maia Sandu signed the decree on the designation of the candidate for the position of Prime Minister on October 24, after consulting the parliamentary factions.

The Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, announced that the future Government will most likely be sworn in on October 31.
