The Republic of Moldova, in the Top 10 fastest growing tourist destinations in Europe
The Republic of Moldova has become one of the most dynamic tourist destinations in Europe, according to data from the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism). In the first half of 2025, our country ranked among the Top 10 European destinations for performance, with international tourist arrivals increasing by 62% compared to 2019.
"These findings highlight the Republic of Moldova's potential as an increasingly appealing destination on the European tourism map—an authentic, safe, and sustainability-focused location," states the National Tourism Office.
The institution specifies that the Government of the Republic of Moldova, through the Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with relevant associations, local public authorities, and international partners, is committed to promoting sustainable and intelligent tourism development. These efforts are aligned with the European Union's Tourism Transition Path and the priorities set by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
