Republic of Moldova assumes the presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers on November 14 | Popșoi: “A great responsibility”

The Republic of Moldova will assume the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE) in Strasbourg on September 14. Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed that it is both an honor and a significant responsibility for our country.
The official announced that the Republic of Moldova's mandate will feature a comprehensive calendar of events in both Chisinau and Strasbourg.
Mihai Popșoi stated during a Facebook live session, "We will focus on protecting children in the online environment, combating disinformation and foreign interference, addressing violence against women, and promoting social rights."
Additionally, Popșoi mentioned that the six-month presidency will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase Moldovan culture and traditions.
At the end of the mandate, a ministerial session will be held in Chisinau on May 15, attended by the foreign ministers of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe.
The Republic of Moldova first held the Committee of Ministers' chairmanship of the Council of Europe in 2003.
"Today, we return to this position with greater experience, confidence, and a strong commitment to European values," concluded Mihai Popșoi.
