Afforestation campaign "Autumn 2025" starts planting this week

Land plots designated for this autumn's afforestation campaign are ready, with initial planting works set to begin later this week.

In the Mihailovca village, Cimișlia district, Government employees are scheduled to plant over 27 hectares of new forest as part of the national afforestation drive, "Autumn 2025."
Gheorghe Hajder, the Minister of the Environment, alongside representatives from the "Moldsilva Agency," inspected the sites on November 10. They confirmed that soil preparation is complete and favorable weather conditions are in place to commence the afforestation.
"We have available locations in every district, ensuring that every citizen can plant a forest close to home. This demonstrates responsibility, continuity, and a genuine commitment to future generations," declared Minister Hajder. "With every tree planted, we gain cleaner water and air, more fertile soils, and increased resilience against natural calamities."
Mass tree planting actions will take place on November 15 across all districts of the Republic of Moldova, and citizens are strongly encouraged to participate in the campaign. Details on available areas and contact information can be found on the "Moldsilva Agency" page under "Participate in Planting – Autumn 2025."
The "Autumn 2025" afforestation campaign is a core component of the "Forest Generation" National Program for the Expansion and Rehabilitation of Forests. Initiated by President Maia Sandu, the program targets the planting and rehabilitation of 145,000 hectares of forest by 2032.
In the first two years since the launch of President Sandu's forest program, over 16,000 hectares have already been afforested.
