Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban resigned from Parliament

Ion Ceban, the general mayor of Chisinau, resigned from his deputy position after attending the first four sessions of the new Parliament.

Ion Ceban submitted his resignation on November 14, 2025.

During its November 13 meeting, Parliament acknowledged the resignations of eight deputies. These included five members from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS): Maria Acbaș, Constantin Cheianu, Roman Cojuhari, Viorel Bostan, and Nicolae Drăgănel. Additionally, two deputies from Our Party, Nina Cereteu and Stela Onuțu, also resigned, along with Ion Ceban.

The vacant seats will be filled by substitutes from the respective parties' electoral lists. The positions of the five PAS deputies may be taken by Ana Oglinda, Vladimir Rusu, Vasile Porțevschi, Oleg Canațui, and Efimia Bandalac. The two deputies from the Our Party will be replaced by Constantin Cuiumju and Alexandr Severin. Furthermore, in place of Ion Ceban, Angela Cutasevici will join Parliament, having been elected from the "Alternative" electoral bloc.

We remind you that since the inauguration of the new Parliament on October 22, 16 deputies have resigned from their legislative mandates, with the majority, 13, coming from PAS. Some of these individuals have accepted positions in the Munteanu Government or other public roles, while others, like Dorin Recean and Artur Mija, have retired from politics.
