Over 100 Ukrainian refugee children attend school both in Chișinău and in Ukraine

They sought refuge in Chisinau, and although they attend schools in the capital, they have not abandoned their studies in Ukraine. About 120 children of Ukrainian refugees continue their studies online while simultaneously attending schools in Ukraine.
A total of 2,272 children from Ukraine are enrolled in 114 educational institutions in Chisinau.
According to the city's authorities, there are 852 students in grades I-IV, another 800 in grades V-IX, and 123 attending lyceums in the capital.
Additionally, 497 refugee children are attending 58 kindergartens in Chisinau, where they benefit from the same educational conditions and development programs as all other children in the municipal system.
Since the Russian Federation began its war in Ukraine, over a million Ukrainian refugees have passed through the Republic of Moldova, seeking safety from the bombings. Approximately 100,000 have remained in the Republic of Moldova, with more than half of them living in Chisinau.
According to the General Inspectorate for Migration, over 4,600 Ukrainian citizens have applied for citizenship in the Republic of Moldova. To date, 2,692 have been granted Moldovan citizenship, and 2,974 applicants have been officially recognised as citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
