The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, will be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of November 26. He will receive a new note of protest regarding the violation of the Republic of Moldova's airspace. According to Mihai Popșoi, the head of Moldovan diplomacy, Chisinau's actions are in accordance with international law and are proportionate.

“The sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova are under threat from such actions. The security of our citizens is at risk, and these incidents are completely unacceptable. The Republic of Moldova has rejected, and will continue to reject, any attack on its security and territorial integrity. We have warned the Russian Federation that such behavior is unacceptable, especially in a context where the security situation is already extremely complicated,” stated the deputy prime minister before the government meeting on November 26.

Popșoi ruled out additional measures for now, such as expelling Russian diplomats, noting that such a move could provoke a similar response from Moscow. “If we were to recall other diplomats, it could make it impossible for us to provide consular services to our citizens,” he explained.

It should be noted that the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Ozerov, is scheduled to attend a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 2:00 p.m. He was summoned following an incident on November 25, when six drones illegally flew over Moldova's airspace, and one of them crashed in the Florești district.

This illegal overflight occurred less than a week after Ozerov was previously summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he received a firm note of protest regarding another airspace violation by a Russian drone on the night of November 19.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs classified the latter incident as a “serious violation of national sovereignty,” while the Russian diplomat claimed that he had not been presented with evidence that the drone was Russian-made.
