Chișinău STARTUP Grant Funds Young Repatriates, 252 new jobs

Twenty-seven young people who returned home to launch or develop their own businesses in Chișinău have secured over 5.25 million lei in non-reimbursable funding through the Municipal Program "STARTUP for Youth and Migrants."
The total planned investments by the beneficiaries exceed 25 million lei, with the companies projected to create 252 new jobs.
The beneficiaries were selected following the evaluation of 81 applications. Program officials emphasize that the initiative represents a significant contribution to the economic development of Chișinău municipality.
The "STARTUP" Program is an initiative supported by the Chișinău City Hall and the Municipal Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CMDA).
"In two years, the CMDA program has reached over 10,000 beneficiaries with training, consultancy, and assistance. I am very proud that we can support young people with creative ideas who will bring added value to our community. We want them to stay home, be examples for others, and turn these projects into real businesses," mentioned Mayor Ion Ceban at the grant certificate presentation ceremony.

The event featured success stories from the previous edition of the program, such as the development of an artisanal bakery, a textile workshop, and the expansion of an innovative business in thermal inspection using drones.
"It is a job that never stops, but one that brings the greatest satisfaction. Don't give up and see things through to the end—that is the key to success," Ivan Tașcă, a beneficiary of the 2024 edition of the same program, told attendees.
Following the certificate ceremony, the beneficiaries participated in an information session on contract provisions, administrative responsibilities, and reporting steps.
Subsequently, each beneficiary signed the funding contract, entering the implementation phase of their business plan.
