Kaja Kallas: Russian drone incursions into Moldovan airspace are unacceptable

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, condemned the illegal overflight of the Republic of Moldova's airspace by Russian drones that occurred from Friday night to Saturday.
"The violations of the Republic of Moldova's airspace by Russian drones are unacceptable and pose a threat to civil air traffic. This year, the European Union is investing 20 million euros in Moldova's air defense systems to help strengthen the country's security. Moldova's skies must not become a casualty of Russia's war," Kaja Kallas stated on X.

We would like to remind you that the airspace of the Republic of Moldova was closed for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes on the night of November 28 to 29, from 22:43 to 23:53. This emergency measure was implemented following the illegal flight of two unidentified drones over the national territory, which posed a direct threat to aviation safety.
This incident marked the second time unidentified drones have flown over the Republic of Moldova this week. Earlier, on the evening of November 28, two unmanned aircraft entered the country’s airspace, moving towards Ukraine via the Transnistrian region in northern Moldova. As a result, the Moldovan airspace was temporarily closed, causing delays for several commercial flights landing at Chisinau Airport. Additionally, a flight from Barcelona was diverted to Bacau.
