Moldova–EU accession talks dominate parliamentary committee session

Chișinău's Parliament is set to host the 16th session of the Republic of Moldova–EU Parliamentary Association Committee (PAC).
The high-level event will take place on Friday, December 5, and will be co-chaired by Marcel Spatari, Chairman of the parliamentary committee for European Integration, and MEP Siegfried Mureșan.
The central focus of the talks will be Moldova's EU accession negotiations. The agenda will also cover the regional security situation and how the country is strengthening its resilience against hybrid warfare.
The session will conclude with press statements from the two co-chairs, scheduled for 12:00 PM. This important session is part of the ongoing Chișinău-Brussels cooperation.
The European Parliament delegation, led by Siegfried Mureșan, also includes MEPs Maria Grapini, Jonas Sjöstedt, Liudas Mažylis, Krzysztof Brejza, and Dan Barna.
The EU will also be represented by Iwona Piórko, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, and Anca-Maria Simion-Neagoe, Head of the European Parliament’s Antenna Office for the Eastern Partnership.
The PAC serves as the official parliamentary forum of the EU–Republic of Moldova Association Agreement. Its members, appointed by the respective Parliaments in Chișinău and Brussels, convene twice annually on an alternating basis.
While in Chișinău, the European Parliament delegation is also scheduled to meet with the country's leadership: President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and Vice-President of Parliament Doina Gherman.
Further meetings on the agenda include discussions with Carolina Perebinos, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors from the EU member states, as well as representatives from civil society and human rights activists.
