Ultramodern pharmaceutical labs opened at the USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu"

State-of-the-art laboratories that meet European standards have been inaugurated at the "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) in the Republic of Moldova. These facilities provide students direct access to advanced technologies in the pharmaceutical field. Students can now follow the entire process of developing a medicine, from computer simulations to the actual formulation in the laboratory, in a unique space dedicated to education through research.

Students are excited to start classes in the new facilities.
"As a resident student, I am thrilled that we have the opportunity to conduct our research in this state-of-the-art laboratory. It is equipped to a high standard, and we have access to the same technologies as those in the European Union," says one student.
"These laboratories are truly impressive because they have been built and equipped according to the latest standards. They will allow us to foster more researchers and discoveries in the Republic of Moldova," says another student.
Thanks to these laboratories, three new subjects of study have been introduced within the specializations, and eight existing subjects have been improved.
"Throughout every space and laboratory, we have video cameras. This integrated video system helps us record and share the research process, analysis, and various activities happening in each laboratory with students," explains Livia Uncu, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Moldova.
"These laboratories are an invaluable resource for students, as they can observe the entire process of drug development—from creation using computer simulations, which is a significant advancement in the field of science, to the actual production," says Cristina Ciobanu, associate professor at the University of Moldova.

The laboratories were established and enhanced through the subproject "Modernization and Strengthening of Education through Research in Pharmacy and Medicine at the 'Nicolae Testemițanu' USMF, 'FORCE Farm'." The awarded grant amounted to two million euros.
