Brignone strikes gold again; historic tie for silver in Milan-Cortina

Italy’s golden run at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics reached a new peak as Federica Brignone claimed her second gold medal of the games. The Italian skier delivered a masterclass in the Giant Slalom, finishing with a commanding time of 2:13.50.
The race concluded with a rare statistical anomaly that stunned spectators and officials alike. Sweden’s Sara Hector and Norway’s Thea Louise Stjernesund recorded identical times of 2:14.12, resulting in a "dead heat" for the second position.
Following International Olympic Committee protocols, both athletes were awarded silver medals. As a result of the shared honors for second place, no bronze medal was issued for the event, marking a historic moment on the Olympic podium.
