Moldova allocates €15.3m in grants for SME development and green transition in 2026

The Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) has officially reopened grant applications for Moldovan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The state-backed initiative has allocated a total budget of €15.3M (approx. 300M MDL) for 2026.

This funding cycle aims to modernize the local economy through six specialized tracks. These include dedicated programs for female entrepreneurs, small-scale producers, and tourism development, alongside a heavy focus on digital and green transitions.

Strategic support for innovation

The funding is a multi-partner effort. Resources are drawn from the national budget, European Union Reform Agenda funds, and the World Bank.

Additional support comes from the "Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova" project. This segment is implemented by GIZ and ODA, with backing from Germany’s BMZ and the Swiss Government.

Proven economic impact

The 2026 rollout follows a successful year for the organization. In 2025, ODA approved 810 investment projects totaling 346.4M MDL, with a majority funded directly by the state.

These previous grants successfully catalyzed over 652.8M MDL in total private sector investments. The new 2026 calls focus on "CREȘTEM IMM," an instrument specifically designed for energy efficiency and local value chain integration.
