Authorities say the MD-Alert system will be operational in 2027, with the concept in its final stage

The MD-Alert system is scheduled to become operational in 2027. The concept for a national system designed to warn the population during emergencies is nearly complete, as announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, during a Government meeting on February 18.
Currently, we are in the final stages of finalizing the MD-Alert system concept project, which will be presented to the Government soon. Following this, we will initiate the operationalization process, which includes several technical components to be purchased in partnership with the World Bank. The system is expected to be operational by 2027, Daniella Misail-Nichitin stated.
According to the minister, the project's feasibility study was completed in 2025.
"Based on this study, the concept is now finalized, and as soon as we have the legal and regulatory framework in place, we will begin the necessary acquisitions for this system," added Daniella Misail-Nichitin.
We remind you that the MD-Alert system, similar to Romania's RO-Alert system, will inform citizens about extreme weather events and emergencies.
Authorities estimate that the total cost of the MD-Alert project will exceed 440,000 euros, with 92 percent of the funding provided by European partners.
