Moldova’s Energocom severs operational ties with Moldovagaz, launches independent service hub

Energocom, Moldova's state-owned energy supplier, will launch its first dedicated customer relations center in Chisinau on March 2, 2026. This move officially ends the company's reliance on Moldovagaz’s infrastructure for consumer services.
Located at 6V Ion Creanga Street, the new facility replaces the previous service point on Alexandr Pushkin Street. Energocom has instructed all capital residents to use this new location for all natural gas supply inquiries.
Modernizing the consumer experience
The center is designed to streamline administrative processes and reduce wait times. Key services include supplier switching, contract renewals, personal data updates, and billing corrections.
To minimize cognitive effort for visitors, the hub features an electronic queuing system and electronic payment options. A dedicated children's play area has also been integrated to support families during their visit.
Operational hours and support
The center will operate Monday through Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00, without a lunch break. For remote assistance, the company’s Call Center remains available at the short number 1304.
While the Chisinau hub marks a significant milestone, Energocom’s regional offices will continue their standard operations. Consumers outside the capital are advised to contact their local territorial branches.
Strategic context of the transition
This transition follows the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) decision to strip Moldovagaz of its supply license in August 2025. The subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom failed to comply with EU Third Energy Package requirements regarding the unbundling of transport and supply activities.
Energocom assumed the "supplier of last resort" role on September 1, 2025. Until now, it utilized a temporary contract with Moldovagaz for billing and customer management while developing its own independent systems.
Under current regulations, Moldovagaz remains responsible for gas supplies to the Transnistrian region only until April 1, 2026.
