Arsenal and Liverpool secure FA Cup quarter-final berths

Arsenal’s quest for silverware continues unabated. The North London club secured their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals following a hard-fought 2-1 away victory against third-tier Mansfield Town.

The breakthrough arrived in the 41st minute when Noni Madueke clinically converted from the edge of the penalty area. Despite a 50th-minute equalizer from Welshman Will Evans, Eberechi Eze restored the lead in the 66th minute to seal the win.

This victory keeps Arsenal’s ambitions alive across four major competitions. Currently leading the Premier League, the club has also reached the League Cup final and is preparing for the Champions League round of 16.

Liverpool showcased their clinical edge at Molineux. The Merseyside club recorded a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, successfully avenging a previous league defeat against the Midlands side.

Following a goalless first half, Andrew Robertson opened the scoring with a powerful long-range strike. Egyptian international Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage shortly after, finishing from close range to silence the home crowd.

Curtis Jones extended the lead with fifteen minutes remaining, drilling a precise shot from outside the box. While Hwang Hee Chan scored a 92nd-minute consolation goal for the hosts, Liverpool’s dominance remained unquestioned.

The draw for the FA Cup quarter-finals is scheduled for Monday, March 9.
