Zimbru edge Chisinau derby as title race intensifies in Moldova

Zimbru Chisinau and Petrocub Hincesti currently share the top spot in the Moldovan Super Liga with 18 points each following a dramatic round of fixtures. Defending champions Sheriff Tiraspol remain in close contention, sitting just one point behind the leaders.
In the Chisinau Derby, Zimbru secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against cross-town rivals Dacia-Buiucani. The "Yellow-Greens" established an early lead through defender Danilo Boiko in the 15th minute, followed by a clinical strike from Abou Dosso before the break.
Dacia-Buiucani remained resilient, narrowing the deficit through Vlad Lupascu just before halftime. Although Denis Kazlouski restored Zimbru's two-goal cushion early in the second half, a 62nd-minute goal by Sergiu Turcan ensured a tense finale.
