Moldova tests 55,000 students in national exam pilot

Approximately 55,000 students across Moldova began national exam simulations today. The testing period, organised by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), runs from 23 March to 3 April.

The pilot includes 36,000 lower-secondary graduates and 19,000 high school students. These simulations aim to assess student readiness and calibrate the final examination materials for the current academic year.

Grading and evaluation

The Ministry confirmed that these trial papers will not be graded. Instead, the process serves as a feedback loop for educators and curriculum designers.

Teachers will evaluate the clarity of questions, the difficulty level, and the physical layout of the exam papers. This feedback ensures that the final national exams are fair and aligned with the current curriculum.

Resource transparency

The National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation (ANCE) will publish all test variants and marking schemes on its official website.

To assist with preparation, the Agency has also maintained a public archive of all exam materials used between 2010 and 2025. These resources remain accessible to all students and educators.
