Maia Sandu congratulates Christians on Easter and Palm Sunday

Moldovan President Maia Sandu conveyed a message of celebration to all believers observing the Resurrection of the Lord today, expressing her hope that this holy day will restore tranquility and confidence to the people.

"Warmest thoughts to everyone celebrating the Resurrection today. May the light of this holiday restore your peace, hope, and faith," the head of state shared in a message posted on social media.

The President concluded her address by wishing all believers a "blessed Easter," emphasizing the spirit of community and shared values across the country.

On Sunday, April 5, Roman Catholic and Protestant believers worldwide celebrate Easter. Simultaneously, Orthodox Christians observe Palm Sunday, the most significant holiday heralding the upcoming Orthodox Easter.

The feast of Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem as a triumphant king. This day marks a period of deep spiritual reflection for the majority of the Moldovan population.
