Moldova’s National Symphony Orchestra to perform at Iasi Palace of Culture

The Teleradio-Moldova National Symphony Orchestra will perform a landmark concert, "A Night at the Palace," at the Iasi Palace of Culture on Friday, April 17, at 19:00.

The event, hosted in the historic Hall of Voivodes, marks a significant moment of cultural diplomacy between Moldova and Romania. The Moldovan Consulate General in Iasi describes the evening as a refined dialogue between the two nations, utilizing the iconic venue as a stage for European musical excellence.

A masterclass in classical repertoire

Under the baton of conductor Andrei Zapșa, the orchestra will deliver a diverse program. The repertoire spans from the Baroque mastery of Bach and Handel to the Romanticism of Grieg and Bizet, alongside works by the legendary George Enescu.

The performance also highlights Eastern European contemporary contributions, featuring compositions by Valentin Mustea and Myroslav Skoryk. This selection aims to bridge traditional classical canons with regional musical identity.

Strengthening cultural ties

The Consulate General emphasized that the concert is unique due to its scale and the symbolic weight of the venue. By bringing a national Moldovan ensemble to one of Romania’s most revered cultural landmarks, the event serves as a strategic "musical bridge" between societies.

Attendees are invited to experience an evening where high art transcends borders, fostering a shared heritage through the universal language of symphonic music.
