Moldova 1 TV honored at GALEX Gala for promoting reading

The GALEX National Awards Gala celebrated outstanding librarians and their partners. One of the honorees was the public television station Moldova 1, which received the award for "Best Promoter and Supporter of Libraries, Books, and Reading in the Media".
The gala is traditionally held on April 23, coinciding with World Librarian Day and International Book and Copyright Day.
The award for "Best Library Founder" was presented to Alic Rudei, head of the Şoldăneşti Culture Section, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen the library network in the district. Meanwhile, Elena Balinschi from the National Library received the title of "Best Librarian of the Year."
"Being a librarian is my vocation, but at the National Library, I engage in a broader field. Here, we research and highlight the documentary heritage of the entire country," Elena Balinschi stated.
The title of "Best Librarian of the Year" was awarded to Tatiana Darii, director of the "Antonie Plămădeală" Public Library in Hânceşti.
"Our library, functioning as a territorial library and economic center, provides methodological support to the 50 public libraries in the Hânceşti district. We make every effort to promote literature and bring it closer to readers!" Tatiana Darii explained.
The award for "Best politician supporting libraries" went to Giuseppe Maria Perricone, the Italian ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, the title of "Best writer and promoter of books and reading" was awarded to Claudia Partole.

"As long as we engage with books, as the proverb says, we will reach our destination, remember our roots, and become a scholarly nation," said Claudia Partole.
This year, the award for "Best Promoter and Supporter of Libraries, Books, and Reading in the Media" was once again presented to the public television station Moldova 1 TV.
"This recognition highlights that we are doing our job well and that our voice, as journalists, truly matters. Every interview and every show contributes significantly to the promotion of culture and literature," stated Alisa Tanas, a journalist at Teleradio-Moldova.

The GALEX Award was created in 2010 by the League of Librarians in the Republic of Moldova and the National Library.
