Thousands of students in Moldova test their digital skills

Today, May 25, approximately 1,500 students in grades 9 to 12 from across the country are participating in the second stage of digital skills testing. This event is organised by the Ministry of Education and Research, along with the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation.

The testing will take place in 56 designated educational institutions, known as Testing Centers. These centers were chosen based on proposals from local specialized education bodies across all districts and municipalities in the country.

Authorities report that approximately 1,100 participants are 9th-grade students, while another 400 are 12th-grade students.

This assessment allows students to showcase their digital skills within an organized and fair framework.

To help them prepare, students had access to a demonstration test, which allowed them to practice navigating the testing platform, accessing items, and managing their time effectively.

The skills evaluated are based on the European Digital Competence Framework and cover several key areas: information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security, and problem-solving.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education assert that this national testing initiative is a significant step towards developing students' digital skills, which are essential for adapting to the demands of modern education and the current job market.
