“Russia has lost Moldova”, Zelensky

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, believes that the Republic of Moldova is one of the countries that has successfully freed itself from Moscow's political influence. In an interview with The Guardian, he stated that both Moldova and Armenia have managed to avoid Russian pressure.
In this context, Zelensky declared that "the Russians have lost the Republic of Moldova," referring to the Kremlin's declining influence over the country's political processes.
He stated, "They can no longer exercise political influence. Azerbaijan is independent. In Armenia, the elections on June 7 were a great success for the country's independence. It was their choice, and it is a significant achievement. I also believe that the Russians have lost the Republic of Moldova. Of course, they do not want to lose Ukraine, because an independent and free Ukraine is the largest and most significant political threat for Russia."
Regarding the war initiated by Russia in Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky remarked that the military situation is the most promising for Kyiv in the last two and a half years. He believes that the path to a potential peace agreement involves a combination of factors. Although Ukraine is open to negotiations, it will not agree to territorial concessions.
Zelensky emphasized, "If Western countries, Europe, Canada, and the United States do not lift sanctions and increase pressure on Russia's ghost fleet and other sectors, then we can say that we are moving closer to peace. If these actions continue and we, on our part, remain strong on the battlefield, then we will get closer to peace."
Last week, Zelensky wrote an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposing a face-to-face meeting to end the war. However, Putin rejected the offer, stating that Russia's territorial claims to the Donbas region and two southern Ukrainian provinces remain unchanged.
