Germany crushes Curacao 7-1 in World Cup opener

Germany opened its World Cup campaign with a dominant 7-1 victory over Curacao. The Group E encounter took place in Houston, marking a statement start for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Felix Nmecha opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a strike from inside the box. Curacao briefly leveled the match in the 21st minute through Livano Comenencia.
Germany regained the lead in the 38th minute via a Nico Schlotterbeck header. Kai Havertz extended the advantage by converting a penalty in the 45+5th minute.
The second half began with high intensity, as Jamal Musiala found the net in the 47th minute. Nathaniel Brown scored his first international goal in the 68th minute to make it 5-1.
Germany maintained control as Curacao faded late in the game. Deniz Undav added to the scoreline in the 78th minute, while Havertz secured his brace in the 88th minute.
Germany’s next Group E fixtures are scheduled for June 20 against Ivory Coast and June 25 against Ecuador.
