Lopatna hosts Iurie Sadovnic Guitar Festival with star lineup

The 5th edition of the Guitar Festival, in memory of Iurie Sadovnic Orheianu, will be held on August 1 in the village of Lopatna, located in the Orhei district. This event, dedicated to honoring the performer and composer Iurie Sadovnic, will feature renowned artists and well-known bands from the Republic of Moldova, with free public access for all attendees.
The festival will feature various artists including Vali Boghean, Irina and Anatol Bivol, the bands "VARA," "Catharsis," and "Gândul Mîței," as well as the duet Magnat and Feoctist. Additionally, the artistic program will include several special guests, and a documentary film dedicated to Iurie Sadovnic will be screened at the event's conclusion.
The organizers have clarified that the festival has both cultural and commemorative significance and is not a commercial event. Participation is free of charge, with no fees required for attendees, participants, or economic agents.
Iurie Sadovnic was a highly regarded performer and composer of light and folk music in the Republic of Moldova. Born on December 14, 1951, in the village of Jura, Râbnița district, he spent his childhood in Susleni, Orhei district.
Throughout his career, he performed as a soloist and guitarist for the bands "Noroc" and "Contemporanul." He was honored with the title of People's Artist, the Order of the Republic, and the Medal "Civic Merit." Sadly, the artist passed away on June 7, 2021.
The Guitar Festival in memory of Iurie Sadovnic Orheianu is organized by the Orhei District Council and has become a cultural landmark in recent years, bringing together artists and music lovers along the banks of the Nistru.
