Honor Guard readies for Independence Day parade
The soldiers of the National Army's Honor Guard Company started preparations for the military parade marking the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The military parade will take place on August 27 as part of the events dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, which will be held in the Great National Assembly Square.
“Every movement is rehearsed! Every detail matters,” the Ministry of Defense reports.
The national program of activities dedicated to celebrating the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova — “The Independence That Unites Us. Moldova-35”, approved by the Government on July 29, includes around 30 cultural, educational, commemorative, and festive events, which will take place until the end of the year.
According to the document, on August 27 an official flower-laying ceremony will be held at the “Grieving Mother” Memorial Complex and at the monument to Stephen the Great and Holy. Afterwards, a military parade will take place in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN), featuring military equipment and military bands, followed by a festive concert in the evening in the center of the capital.
On the occasion of the Independence anniversary, Parliament launched the “I Am Generation Moldova 35” campaign for people born in 1991—the year the Republic of Moldova declared its independence.
