Over 50 cases of mushroom poisoning, registered during the past week
During the past week, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service recorded 87 toxic emergencies, of which 53 were mushroom poisoning, 10 with medicine, 9 with alcohol, 7 with carbon monoxide and one case of drug poisoning. In all, there were almost 14,000 requests during this period.
According to the National Center for Emergency Medical Care (CNAMUP), between October 14-20, ambulance intervention was requested for 3768 patients with cardiovascular emergencies, of which 56 with acute coronary syndrome; 1935 were emergencies related to neurological pathologies, followed by respiratory emergencies, 1574 in number and 1195 trauma emergencies.
During this period, the ambulance was also requested for 80 people, who suffered as a result of 60 road accidents. After providing first aid, the AMU teams transported 72 patients, including 8 children, to hospital for further inpatient treatment.
Also, medical crews intervened for 44 emergencies generated by physical and chemical agents, including 21 animal bites or insect stings, 19 burns and four cases of hypothermia.
