Moldovan citizen Anton Malishev, released from Tiraspol, was detained in Chisinau for drug trafficking
Moldovan citizen Anton Malishev, who was released on February 10 by the authorities in Tiraspol, was immediately detained by Moldovan police on charges of drug trafficking. He is currently held at Penitentiary No. 13 in Chișinău, as confirmed by Diana Fetco, the spokesperson for the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP), in a statement to Teleradio-Moldova. According to the source, Malishev is involved in two criminal cases on the right bank of the Nistru and has been wanted since 2021 by both the Botanica Police Inspectorate and the Rîșcani Police Inspectorate.

The cited source indicates that in a criminal case initiated by IP Rîșcani, there is a court ruling sentencing Anton Malîșev to 8 years of detention. Throughout this period, Malîșev was located on the left bank of the Nistru, where he continued to commit the same crimes.
"The State of the Republic of Moldova ensures that every citizen is held accountable for any act within the limits of constitutional norms, and the fact that this person was released should be appreciated. This allowed us to bring him into the legal system to be held accountable for his actions. We want to emphasize that all individuals on the territory of the Republic of Moldova who have conflicted with the law must be held accountable based on the decisions of a constitutional court," stated representatives of the IGP.
Vadim Vieru, a lawyer with Promo-LEX, mentioned in an interview with Teleradio-Moldova that the organization has no information regarding the criminal files against Malîșev on the right bank of the Nistru.
"As lawyers, we are representing him concerning the conditions of his detention and access to medical assistance in the Transnistrian region. We were not informed about the existence of these drug trafficking cases. Criminal prosecution actions should either be initiated or the case should be sent to court, but we do not have any details on this matter," Vieru said.
He added that Promo-LEX was approached by Malîșev’s mother to intervene regarding the conditions of detention in the Transnistrian region. "We are relying on the information provided by his family, as access to the Transnistrian region is restricted," the lawyer said.
After approximately two years of unlawful detention, Anton Malîșev was released from the custody of the separatist authorities in Tiraspol. He was kidnapped on February 8, 2023, by unconstitutional law enforcement agencies and held in inhumane conditions. According to the Promo-LEX Association, dozens of political prisoners remain illegally detained, including Ermurachi M., Menzarari S., Dimov A., Zaharov O., Kuzmiciov Gh., Pogorletchii V., and Derebcinschi S.
Earlier this week, members of the Commission for Emergencies made a derogation from the law on natural gas, allowing the left bank of the Nistru to be supplied with gas through a company in Hungary. In return, the Government expects the separatist authorities to release political prisoners, address the issue of the high school in Râbnița, keep Moldova 1 TV on the broadcast grid, and remove the so-called checkpoints installed in 2022.
