Vulcănești-Chișinău power line construction reaches 22% completion
At this stage, the construction and installation works on the Vulcănești-Chișinău power line in Moldova are 22% completed.

As a result, the construction site has been expanded to the Autonomous Territorial Unit (ATA) of Gagauzia, as well as the districts of Leova, Cahul, Taraclia, and Cimișlia.
Today, Constantin Borosan, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, visited the Vulcănești-Chișinău power line site, which has been extended to the Cenac area in Cimișlia district. Following an increase in the workforce and improvements in weather conditions, the works have been expanded to a new site, and a new team of specialists from Turkey is expected to arrive next week to start work at additional locations.
The official highlighted the strategic importance of the Vulcănești-Chișinău power line for ensuring the country’s energy security, urging company representatives to accelerate the work pace and increase efforts as weather conditions improve.
It is important to note that the construction works officially began in April 2024, after the technical project was developed and approved, and the necessary prerequisites were fulfilled. Materials and components necessary for the construction of the high-voltage power line have been produced and delivered, with 90% of the required volume completed.
The deadline for completing the construction and commissioning of the Vulcănești-Chișinău high-voltage power line is December of this year, while the Chișinău electric substation is expected to be completed by August of this year.
