Ramona-Victoria Strugariu, director of the INJ, received the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova. The decree was signed by Maia Sandu.

Ramona-Victoria Strugariu, director of the National Institute of Justice (INJ), has received the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova. The decree to this effect was signed by President Maia Sandu on February 25.

Ramona-Victoria Strugariu was elected as the director of the National Institute of Justice (INJ), following the meeting of the INJ Council on February 14. Initially, two candidates were admitted to the competition, Ramona-Victoria Strugariu and Natalia Balaban, but the latter withdrew from the competition.

Ramona-Victoria Strugariu is a lawyer and former MEP, having been elected to the European Parliament in 2019 on the joint USR-PLUS list. She was a member of the PLUS party, founded by Dacian Cioloș, and after the merger with USR, she joined the REPER formation, which she has co-chaired since May 2023 together with Dragoș Pîslaru.

She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iași in 2002 and pursued a master's degree in European law at the same institution. She also participated in legal and managerial training programs in Switzerland and Belgium.

Strugariu began her career as a lawyer in private companies (2003-2007), then served as a legal advisor at the National Institute of Statistics in Bucharest (2007-2008). Later, she was a project manager and legal advisor at the Foundation for the Promotion of Community Sanctions (2008-2012).

Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as an examiner for the IELTS and Cambridge English language exams at the British Council in Brussels. From 2015 to 2019, she was a parliamentary assistant and head of cabinet at the European Parliament.

In 2022, after an internal conflict in the USR, she resigned and joined the new REPER party, alongside Dacian Cioloș.
