Republic of Moldova opens consulate in the Netherlands. Igor Grosu: "Proof of a solid partnership"

The Honorary Consulate of our country was established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located in Heiloo. The inauguration was attended by Igor Grosu, Parliament Speaker, who remarked that "today's event demonstrates that the Republic of Moldova has successfully built a strong partnership with local authorities in the Netherlands."
"Through this consulate, we aim to promote our local culture, traditions, and products more vigorously in the Dutch market," said the Parliament Speaker.
The Parliament Speaker also wished the Honorary Consul, Vera Stupenea, success in her work. Stupenea, who has lived in the Kingdom of the Netherlands for 28 years, is the author of several school textbooks and an active promoter of Moldovan values.
Igor Grosu emphasized that the authorities will continue to expand the consular network to ensure that every Moldovan, no matter where they are, can feel at home.
During her visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Parliament Speaker also met with Marcin Czepelak, the Secretary General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague. Their discussions focused on recent improvements in legislation concerning justice, the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of cybersecurity.

A few days ago, in Parliament, we voted to support the Republic of Moldova's accession to the Hague Convention on the Peaceful Settlement of International Disputes, which was signed in 1907. This important document is a cornerstone of the global legal framework. By joining this convention, Moldova gains access to international mediation and arbitration mechanisms, signalling the growth of our diplomatic efforts and reinforcing the country's commitment to neutrality," emphasised Igor Grosu.
According to a statement from the Legislative, the Parliament Speaker reiterated his strong commitment to working towards a peaceful, stable, and European Moldova during the meeting.
