Roman Roșca sworn in as Moldova's reintegration DPM

Roman Roșca was sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration on Wednesday, July 23.

The ceremony took place at the Presidential Office, with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean in attendance.

The President thanked former Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian for his work, particularly for supporting citizens on the left bank of the Dniester, and urged the new official to continue efforts to maintain stability and security in the region.

"I want to thank Mr. Serebrian for his consistent and significant contribution to preserving stability and peace in the country, and for all his efforts to help our citizens on the left bank of the Dniester, especially during this complicated period we have faced. Your primary mission (Roman Roșca, ed. note) is the safety of our people on both the left and right banks of the Dniester. To provide this safety, we need to maintain stability, especially in the coming weeks and months, as we are aware of the risks and challenges. The state's foremost task is the safety of its people," President Maia Sandu stated.

For his part, Prime Minister Dorin Recean welcomed him to the governmental team and noted that, in the current geopolitical context, the main objective remains maintaining peace and security in the Republic of Moldova.

"We have a rather difficult but achievable task – to ensure peace and security in the Republic of Moldova, considering the Transnistrian conflict. I want to thank Mr. Serebrian because during this rather difficult period, he maintained balance and we ensured that the Republic of Moldova is a peaceful country, capable of developing and prospering for all its citizens," Recean said.

It's worth noting that former Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian concluded his mandate on July 21, having previously been appointed as Moldova's Ambassador to Turkey.
