Taraclia’s former university becomes a branch of Bulgaria’s "Angel Kanchev" University: Agreement signed in Sofia

The former "Grigore Ţambalac" University in Taraclia will be transformed into a branch of the "Angel Kanchev" University in Ruse, Bulgaria. The agreement formalizing this transition will be signed on Sunday, July 27, in the presence of the prime ministers of Chisinau and Sofia, Dorin Recean and Rossen Jeliazkov.
The event will take place in Taraclia following a meeting between two officials and representatives of local public authorities in this district, which is home to nearly 80% ethnic Bulgarians.
According to the document, the authorities in Sofia will support the university by providing scholarships, donating books and computers, and sending teachers from Bulgaria to teach modules in the Bulgarian language.
Additionally, the Taraclia branch will be funded by the budget of "Angel Kanchev" University in Bulgaria, while the Government of the Republic of Moldova will provide the necessary assets for the institution's use.
We remind you that the Bulgarian Prime Minister will arrive in Chisinau in the first half of July 27, where he will be welcomed by his Moldovan counterpart, Dorin Recean, at the Government House.
Following a private meeting and a broader discussion with delegation members, Prime Ministers Dorin Recean and Rossen Jeliazkov will hold a joint press conference.
On Monday, July 28, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov will meet with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu.
According to the Government, officials from Chisinau and Sofia will discuss the bilateral agenda, Bulgaria's support for Moldova's European path, and the strengthening of bilateral relations in the field of education.
