After Judge Ana Cucerescu, who handled the case of Governor Evghenia Guțul, received threats, the prosecutor in the case, Ghenadie Epure, has also been sent multiple threatening messages.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Dumitru Obadă, president of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP).

During the CSP meeting, President Obadă stated that Ghenadie Epure of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office had filed a complaint with the CSP regarding the "direct threats" he received.

Obadă condemned the pressure on state prosecutors, emphasizing that the situation is "completely unacceptable."

"The troubling situation that judges have faced is now extending to prosecutors. These are direct threats against the case prosecutor... These attempts will not succeed. Honest, integral, and courageous prosecutors will continue to fulfill their official duties," Obadă declared.

The police have also launched investigations into the cases of Judge Ana Cucerescu of the Chișinău Court, Buiucani branch, who issued the conviction against Evghenia Guțul, and Livia Mitrofan, a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy. Both have been repeatedly intimidated and threatened in recent months. The two magistrates received images of decapitated people and death threats.

The actions intensified before the verdict against Evghenia Guțul was pronounced, when she was involved in the illegal financing activities of the former "Șor" Party.

Furthermore, shortly before the verdict was announced, Governor Evghenia Guțul and her entire family moved into the same apartment building where Judge Cucerescu lives.

This is a developing story.
