Sofia Cristea, inspired by her mother, decided to study at the Center of Excellence in Light Industry in the village of Săiți, Căușeni district. To reduce her expenses, she opted to live in a dormitory and is determined to turn her passion for sewing into a well-paying job.

“As I start this new academic year, I have high expectations to learn my profession and develop both professionally and personally. In the future, I plan to work in this field because there is a sewing shop in my hometown that offers good pay. When I arrived at the dormitory, it looked very nice and well-arranged,” says Sofia Cristea.

Other first-year students view the beginning of the academic year as an opportunity to shape their future. They note that even though they have only been living in their new environment for a day, they have already started to make friends.

One student shared, “I studied medicine for a year but realized it wasn’t for me. I enjoy doing makeup and different hairstyles, so I decided to pursue my studies here. I have high hopes for the new academic year. I want to experiment and, in the future, I plan to take additional courses and eventually open my own salon.”

Another student stated, “I chose to become a hairdresser because it offers better career prospects and there is a great demand for specialists in this field. My expectations for the new academic year are to grow in this profession, meet new people, and gain new knowledge.”
