Over 250,000 students received 1,000-lei government support at school year start
Parents of over 250,000 children in grades 1 to 11 have already received the 1,000 lei financial aid provided by the Government at the beginning of the school year. According to Executive Spokesperson Daniel Vodă, approximately 85% of the payments designated for this purpose have been accessed so far.
The financial assistance can be retrieved either on the parent's bank card or directly at post offices. Daniel Vodă said that these funds will be available until the end of 2025.
"If you have not received this financial support, you can contact the responsible authority. The aid remains valid until December 2025 and can be accessed at post offices or through an application submitted to the appropriate institutions," Vodă stated during the press conference following the Government meeting.
We remind you that the 1,000 lei support provided by the Government at the beginning of the school year is intended for approximately 297,000 children nationwide. To implement this measure, the Government has allocated around 300 million lei from the state budget.
Authorities assert that this financial support aims to help families better prepare for the start of the school year, reduce absenteeism, promote educational equity, and contribute to the overall improvement of educational quality.
