Two agents arrested for organizing mass riots

Three individuals were detained on election day on suspicion of organizing mass riots. They have been arrested for a period of 30 days. Among those arrested, two were reportedly employees of law enforcement agencies on the left bank of the Nistru. They allegedly planned to set fire to state institutions in exchange for amounts of up to one thousand dollars.

One of the three men does not plead guilty. Oleg Tomița claims he was going to deliver a bag containing several items intended for the protests and that he would have agreed to do so in exchange for $100.

"- I took the bag on Sunday and they caught me on Sunday evening. - Why did you take the bag? - For the protests on Monday at noon. I accepted because they promised to give me some lei. - How much did they promise you? - 100 dollars".

Prosecutors say that several people are accused in this case, including those who participated in training in Serbia. And they were going to receive the money from Russia.

"During the searches, pyrotechnic objects, bands that were to be tied to several people's arms, mobile phones, bank cards were found. These objects were intended for individuals recruited to participate in mass disorder. There are people who have connections to Serbia, others who have no connections to Serbia, but were recruited here in Chisinau from various districts. They all say that they were to be paid from the Russian Federation. From 100 dollars to 1,000, depending on what they were to do", mentions the prosecutor in the case, Sergiu Zeama.

On Tuesday, authorities documented 31 individuals, the majority of whom were from the Transnistrian region, in connection with a protest that took place on Monday. This protest was organized in front of the Parliament by members and supporters of the Patriotic Electoral Bloc, who announced their refusal to recognize the election results.
