Chisinau remains without two deputy mayors: Olga Ursu and Angela Cutasevici go to Parliament

Chisinau is now without two deputy mayors, Olga Ursu and Angela Cutasevici, who were elected to the new Parliament as candidates from the "Alternative" Electoral Bloc. The announcement was made by Ion Ceban, who previously stated that he would continue in his role as mayor.
"Most likely, the deputy mayors – Mrs. Cutasevici and Mrs. Olga Ursu – will represent both the Municipal Hall and the MAN Party, the Alternative bloc, in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. They are exceptional professionals", the mayor declared on Monday, at the municipal services meeting.
The mayor thanked them for their dedication and "for everything that has been accomplished so far", specifying that the procedures for appointing the new vice mayors will be initiated shortly.
"I believe that during this period, the ladies will combine their roles, as the legislation allows for a 30-day concurrent exercise of the functions of deputy and mayor or vice mayor. After this period, we will proceed with the necessary activities in accordance with legislative and normative provisions," said Ion Ceban.
The votes obtained in the elections of September 28 provided the Electoral Bloc "Alternative" with eight mandates as MPs. After Ion Ceban announced on October 9 that he would remain in the position of mayor, the mandate as MP will go to the deputy mayor of Chisinau, Angela Cutasevici, who is in ninth position on the list of candidates.
The 30-day period in which the newly elected people must decide whether to join Parliament or give up their mandate in favor of their current positions begins to run from the moment the election results are confirmed.
The Constitutional Court announced that it will examine the election results and validate the mandates of the elected deputies at the meeting of October 16.
Of the total of 1,578,722 valid votes cast in the September 28 elections, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) obtained 792,557, the "Patriotic" Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, the Heart and Future of Moldova - 381,984, the "Alternative" Bloc - 125,706, the Our Party - 97,852, and the "Democracy at Home" Party - 88,679.
Following the redistribution of mandates, PAS obtained 55 mandates, the Patriotic Bloc - 26, the "Alternative" Bloc - eight, and the Our Party and the "Democracy at Home" Party - six mandates each.
