PAS deputy on Moldova 1 TV: Munteanu Government will continue the objectives of the Recean Cabinet, with an emphasis on economic development

The Republic of Moldova's strategic objective is to join the European Union by 2028. This goal is based on the commitments the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) has made to its citizens. The Munteanu Cabinet is expected to continue the reforms initiated by the Recean Government. According to PAS deputy Marcela Adam, the future Executive has outlined a clear agenda for economic, social, and institutional development, as stated on the show IN CONTEXT on Moldova 1 TV.
"It is obvious that, when forming the Cabinet of Ministers, the PAS faction was consulted. There are nine ministers from the Recean Cabinet and, respectively, eight new ministers who come to ensure the development of the economy, and this is one of the priorities of the new Government in order to advance in the accession process of the Republic of Moldova and increase the well-being and prosperity of the country and its citizens", declared Marcela Adam, on Moldova 1 TV.
The MP stated that she had read the activity program, made public on Tuesday by the designated Prime Minister, Alexandru Munteanu, and was "delighted" to find the basic commitments of PAS: "European integration and accession to the European Union by 2028, increasing citizens' incomes, increasing the average and minimum wage, developing infrastructure, energy infrastructure, road infrastructure, railway and airport infrastructure, developing quality education, modernizing hospitals".
Highlighting the economic potential, the deputy emphasized that the Republic of Moldova "excels in the export of IT, medical, educational services and this is a benefit for the economy". Also, Moldovan products enjoy great popularity on the EU market, and exports will provide local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to develop their businesses.
Another priority of the future Government is the reform of local public administration, with voluntary amalgamation a complex process essential to bringing services closer to citizens and to developing a quality infrastructure with the help of EU funds.
"It is a truly complex and very important reform. The voluntary amalgamation process has already started. Elections will soon be held in Leova under the principle of voluntary amalgamation. And it is imperative that this reform take place for the benefit of citizens, not to create problems. I am talking here about the need to bring the services they need and that the local public administration with more resources makes available as close as possible to citizens", said the legislator.
On the same show, the MP from the majority parliamentary faction expressed her confidence that Natalia Plugaru, proposed for the position of Minister of Labor and Social Protection, will "continue policies to support families with children, people with disabilities, young people, and women".
At the same time, the MP insisted on completing the external evaluation of prosecutors and judges by the end of 2026, emphasizing the need for it to "be done well, not just quickly".
"I really hope that things will go as fast as necessary to succeed, because here it is imperative that the reform continues and yields positive results", emphasized Marcela Adam.
The PAS MP said that EU accession negotiations should open at the same time for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, expressing her hope that a solution to the "Hungarian deadlock" will be found.
"Accession to the EU is an ambitious goal and time dictates that we act. For the moment, at least for the Republic of Moldova, we have the support of all 27 states. The blockage stems from Hungary's position regarding Ukraine. We said that it is imperative that negotiations begin for both states. The pace of conducting the negotiations may differ—each with its own home theme —but the opening of negotiations should be together. At least, that is expected and we have the support of the European Union authorities to identify suitable solutions to get out of this impasse", concluded Marcela Adam, on the show IN CONTEXT on Moldova 1 TV.
We remind you that, following consultations with the parliamentary factions, President Maia Sandu nominated Alexandru Munteanu as Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, at the proposal of the PAS Political Council.
Alexandru Munteanu presented on Tuesday, October 28, the team of the new Cabinet of Ministers with which he will go to Parliament to request a vote of confidence from the deputies and the government program.
According to the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, the Munteanu Government could be inaugurated on Friday, October 31.
