Natalia Bulat, the director of the "Gheorghe Asachi" Theoretical Lyceum in Chisinau, and a representative of a business entity were detained on Thursday, October 30, by the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) for involvement in corruption. Additionally, one of the school's deputy directors and several other business entities are under investigation in connection with the same case.

The CNA suspects that certain individuals were involved in fictitious employment schemes, which led to the embezzlement of lyceum funds. Additionally, there are allegations that these individuals systematically demanded, accepted, and received financial contributions from various economic agents, amounting to approximately 10% of the total value of contracts for the purchase of goods, services, and works.

Furthermore, there are reasonable suspicions that these officials received money from the parents of students enrolled in their programs without any legal justification, often under various pretexts.

As part of the investigation, CNA officers conducted searches at the homes and offices of the individuals involved, as well as at the premises of certain targeted economic agents.

Accounting documents, purchase contracts, and undisclosed sums of money, along with other materials pertinent to the case, were seized from the scene.

The National Anticorruption Center, under the guidance of the Chisinau City Prosecutor's Office, is currently conducting criminal investigations to identify and document all individuals involved and ensure they are held criminally accountable under the applicable laws.

Images from the CNA show the amounts of money discovered during the on-site searches.
